United to Read

United to Read is an annual BRUW event held every November in cooperation with Horry County United Way.

Our aim is to share with volunteers the joy of reading to children at school. In the process, we show students that we care about their scholastic success and hopefully encourage concerned community members to join us in our fight to improve literacy in our communities.

United to Read 2020!

On this day, volunteers across Georgetown, and Williamsburg Counties will be reading virtually to over 150 elementary & daycare classrooms.

We just need YOU to record yourself reading this years United to Read book and submit it to Black River United Way. These recording will be shown in Elementary Schools in Georgetown & Williamsburg County. No experience necessary, just a love of reading. Materials are provided!

We are so grateful to our past United to Read volunteers for making the event such a success!
